This internationally known festival is located in the quiet, southern town of Salley, South Carolina (population 410) and is held annually the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Each year approximately 25,000 visitors converge on Salley to celebrate one of the more unusual food items available, chitterlings. Quite simply, chitterlings (or chitlin's) are fried pig intestines and have been a southern tradition for over one-hundred years

NOV 8, 22~Canoe With a Ranger
The 'Fall Canoe with a Ranger Program' is here. Join us at 9am at the dock at the Aiken State Natural Area, 1145 State Park Road, Winsdor. The 2-mile trip on the South Fork of the Edisto River wil3l last appr. 2 hours. Bring water, strap for eyeglasses/sunglasses, change of clothes. Space limited to 12 participants. Must be 5 or older. Adult must accompany those aged 5 to 17. Canoes, life vets and paddles provided. Reservations required. Call 803-295-7248 top make reservations.

Living History Demonstrations ~North Augusta, SC
The last Saturday each month (weather permitting) from January through October, the park features living history demonstrations. Events are free unless otherwise noted. Please visit their website for an up-to-date schedule of these events.
Museum Tour ~ Aiken, SC
Aiken County Historical Museum, 433 Newberry St. NW is offering tours of the museum at 10:30 on Thursdays and Fridays. Thursday tour host is Owen Clary, Friday tour host is Elliot Levy. Free, but reservations requested. Call 803-642-2015.
