Aiken County ordinances define a mobile home park as being five (5) or more mobile homes on a parcel of land, which is at least five (5) acres. Before a mobile home park can be established, a mobile home park permit must be obtained from the Planning & Development Department.
Application packets for mobile home park permits can be obtained from the Planning & Development Department. The packet should contain one (1) application, Conditions for Mobile Home Site Plan Approval, and a copy of Section 3.15 Manufactured Home Parksfrom theAiken County Land Management Regulations. Complete and submit the application plus four (4) copies of the complete site plan, one (1) set of drainage calculations and the review fee to the Planner for review. The site plans should contain all the information noted in the application packet in order to avoid delays in the review and approval process. The Aiken County Planning Commission is responsible for reviewing and approving permits for mobile homes parks utilizing more than ten (10) acres of land. Applications and plans must be submitted to the Planning & Development Department one month prior to the regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission. Planning Commission meets the third Thursday of the month at 6:00pm. |
