The Parks, Recreation, and Tourism department works to provide safe and innovative recreational programs and park amenities of the highest quality that resources allow to all citizens and visitors of Aiken County. The three divisions of this department are complimented by a grant-funded extension of the school lunch program referred to as the Summer Food (AKA Feed-A-Kid) Program.
The Parks Division provides safe, convenient and well-appointed parks and facilities for the leisure use of Aiken County residents, their guests and visitors.
The Recreation Division provides new and/or up-to-date facilities that enhance Aiken County parks so they will be useful and enjoyable. This division also plans interesting and well-implemented leisure programs for the enjoyment of residents, their guests, and visitors to our County.
The Tourism Division's goal is to develop and implement promotional programs that attract visitors and new commerce to Aiken County and kindle the interest of residents in the history, conservation and development of the County.
The Summer Food Program is a Federally funded program that acts as an extension of the school lunch program. It provides healthy and substantial breakfast and lunch meals during the summer months to needy Aiken County children. |
