Historic horse trough moved to Historical Museum

July 1, 2009

The horse trough that was previously located behind the County courthouse has been moved to its new location just outside the Aiken County Historical Museum.  The County’s Public Works department moved the trough to its present location on June 16.  The trough will have fresh circulating water and a spigot for runners or walkers to fill their water bottles.  The trough will become operational sometime this fall and will be used to serve the horse community and others. A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Jan. 23, 2010, at 11 a.m.
