Public Service Authority Reaches Safety Milestone

October 8, 2008
Aiken County PSA has reached a remarkable 4,000 days without a lost time accident. That means no accident that required time away from work since July 1997. Reaching this milestone means that employees at PSA know that the job of safety does not belong to one person, instead everyone's job is safety.

Karen Tarbox, Aiken County PSA Safety Coordinator, said: “4,000 days is quite an accomplishment that we here at the PSA are indeed proud of. We reached the 4,000 days on 7/14/08 and will reach the official 11 years without a lost time accident on 7/29/08. The last time we had a lost time accident was July 30, 1997. We stress that safety is not a one person job - everyone is responsible not only for their own safety but the safety of each other. I am personally proud of all the employees and all they do.”

PSA provides wastewater services to local industries, as well as the cities of Aiken and North Augusta and numerous water districts in between along with Edgefield and Saluda counties.
