Tax Evaders Cost You Money! Report Unregistered Vehicles!

October 1, 2006

Vehicles must be registered in South Carolina if they are:

  • Operated for an accumulated period exceeding 150 days

Or within 45 days if the individual:

  • Establishes a domicile
  • Establishes a business
  • Obtains employment (while a resident)
  • Enrolls their children in Aiken County Schools
  • Obtains a South Carolina driver's license

If you suspect that a vehicle owner is evading personal property tax laws, you can use the online reporting system to report this information to the Aiken County Auditor's Office. You are not required to enter any personal information to use this system.

Citizens may also call 642-1511 (during business hours, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday) to report unregistered vehicles. Please have the tag number and state, and owner name and address if available. ANONYMOUS CALLS ACCEPTED, AND ALL CALLS HELD IN STRICT CONFIDENCE.
