Saturday, January 7, 2006, nine retired employees were honored for outstanding service to Aiken County. They are: Otis Barr, Clarence Barron, Joe Hornsby, Jr., Robert Quarles and William Smith, all of the Public Works & Engineering Department; Joyce Davis of Registration and Elections and Lillian Noe and Lloyd Hatfield of the Auditor's Office; and finally Elbert Freeman of the Sheriff's Office.
Council members are Ronnie Young, Chairman, Kathy Rawls, Scott Singer, LaWana Mckenzie, Chuck Smith, Eddie Butler, Charles Barton, Gary Bunker and Willar Hightower.
Department Heads in attendance were: Alvin Bryan, Public Works & Engineering, Stuart Bedenbaugh, Registration and Elections and Cyrus Spradley, Auditor.
As you see in the photos that follow a wonderful time was had by all. County Council showed their appreciation by giving each retiree an engraved watch, a certificate of appreciation, along with a wonderful meal .
Retirement brings the time and freedom to follow your heart and pursue new interests.
