Investigator Ghant, accompanied by Sheriff Michael Hunt, this afternoon made
a presentation to United Way of Aiken County President, Dee Stanford.
“Because United Way of Aiken County serves so many worthwhile causes
throughout the county, I feel the organization is in position to make the best
use of this contribution,” said Investigator Ghant.
“Our congratulations go to Investigator Ghant and the Aiken County Sheriff’s
Office,” said Stanford. “We are grateful and honored he chose United
Way of Aiken County to receive this generous gift.”
Working with investigators from across the Midlands, Ghant in March led a team,
which found more than 70 stolen vehicles and trailers valued at $1.6 million
dollars. It was the largest collection of construction equipment and vehicles
ever recovered in Aiken County.
"It's the kind of case one waits for their entire career," Ghant
said reflecting on the case.
In June, the Southeast chapter of IAATI presented Ghant with its Award of Merit
at their regional conference in Baltimore, Maryland. |
