The Information Technology Department is dedicated to providing quality and efficient service to County departments and agencies so they may be better equipped to assist the citizens of Aiken County.

The Computer Services Division works with the County's computer users to provide installation of computer software and hardware, programming, training, and support. The addition of computer networks, email, and web browsing has improved communications and productivity for County offices.

The GIS Mapping Division maintains all Aiken County Government maps, including tax maps, zoning maps, political maps, and E-911 addressing maps. GIS uses computers to create accurate digital maps. The GIS database, which is used to create all the various County maps, is edited and maintained on a daily basis. Maps can be viewed online or purchased in the GIS Mapping office or by mail.

The Records Management Division develops records retention schedules for all County offices, oversees the legal destruction of obsolete records, and plans for the development of micrographics and automated systems. This division also trains all County offices in proper records management techniques.

The Print & Postal Services Division provides printing and mail functions to 31 County offices in eleven buildings. This department handles pickup and delivery to the Aiken Post Office of over 2,000 pieces of mail daily plus delivery of interoffice mail.
