Vehicle Tax history is available on the eGov section of our website. The new search functionality allows you to search vehicle tax history by owner name or receipt number. You will be prompted for the last 4 digits of the vehicle's VIN in order to view details; this is required by Federal privacy guidelines.
Help the Aiken County Animal Shelter by Joining FOTAS
Friends of the Animal Shelter (FOTAS) is a non-profit volunteer organization that supports the programs at the Aiken County Animal Shelter. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for Aiken County's shelter animals, increase pet adoption, and prevent unwanted and mistreated pets. The Aiken County Shelter currently takes in 5,000 to 6,000 cats and dogs each ear and currently 90% are euthanized. FOTAS can help the Shelter save thousands of homeless pets each year. Please consider supporting FOTAS by downloading the membership application. Additionally, FOTAS will host a Pet Fair on Saturday, November 21 from 10am until 1pm at the Aiken County Animal Shelter, 411 wire Road. Shelter dogs and cats will be available for adoption and dog groomers, sitters, and trainers will be on hand. FOTAS will also be raffling free spay/neuter coupons and a free year's supply of pet food in a drawing open to all.

County Creates Transparency By Posting Financial Transactions Online
With Aiken County's ongoing commitment to creating open government and transparency, we are providing citizens with information regarding County financial transactions. Various financial reports are now available on our website on our Financial Reporting page.The reports available include: accounts payable transactions, credit card transactions, budgets, annual financial reports, and chart of accounts for identifying transactions. These reports will be updated on at least a monthly basis or more frequently. Information that will not be posted includes that which is protected under the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act or statutes such as the Privacy Act. This includes specific payroll information for County employees, information pertaining to transactions specifically excluded for economic development activities and information protected by attorney/client privilege.
Culvert installation will result in temporary Anderson Pond Road Closure
Anderson Pond Road will be closed to thru traffic beginning Monday, October 12, 2009 through Wednesday, December 9, 2009. The road closure will allow for the installation of box culverts across Anderson Pond Road at Hollow Creek. Road closure signs will be posted in the impacted area.

New Ellenton Magistrate's Office Temporarily Relocated to Aiken Magistrate's Office
The New Ellenton Magistrate's Office has been temporarily relocated to the Aiken Magistrate's Office at 1680 Richland Avenue West in Aiken.
Circuit Case Info Now Online
Circuit Case information, including civil and criminal cases and judgments, is available online. Additionally, court dockets and rosters are also available online. Use our Public Index website and when prompted, click on Circuit Court for the Circuit case search page. Information provided is in accordance with policies of the South Carolina Judicial Department, which provided the software for this new online service.
Pay Your Traffic Ticket Online
If you have received a traffic ticket in the unincorporated area of Aiken County, you can now pay your ticket online by visiting www.aikencountysc.gov/traffic. Credit cards are accepted for payment online and at all Magistrate offices in Aiken County; a convenience fee is added by the credit card processor to defer the cost of handling the credit card payments.Traffic ticket payments will still be accepted by cash or other approved methods at Central Traffic Court on Hampton Avenue.
